A Place to Begin
You Don’t Need to Fit Into a Box
You may know exactly what you want help with, or you may only know that something isn’t working anymore.
Maybe you’re carrying too much, feeling overwhelmed by emotions that seem difficult to manage, or caught in patterns you understand but can’t seem to change. You might be navigating grief, trauma, a relationship or major life change. Or maybe you’re tired of feeling like you’re somehow “too much” or “not enough.”
You don’t have to be in crisis to deserve support.
Counselling isn’t about fixing you or helping you become someone different. It’s about creating space to understand what’s happening beneath the surface, reconnect with who you are, and find ways forward that feel meaningful and manageable for you.
You set the destination. I’ll help you navigate the way.
Areas of Support
Counselling Support for What You’re Carrying
There’s no single reason people come to counselling. You may be navigating something specific, carrying something that’s been with you for years, or simply knowing that something needs to change. Wherever you’re starting from, we can begin there.

Anxiety, Overwhelm & Self-Worth
When worry, overthinking or self-doubt become difficult to quiet, it can be hard to feel grounded in yourself. We can explore anxiety, emotional overwhelm, avoidance, shame and the persistent feeling that you’re somehow “too much” or “not enough,” while building practical ways to understand and respond to what you’re experiencing.

Trauma & PTSD
Trauma can affect how you feel, think, connect with others and move through everyday life. I support adults living with the effects of trauma, PTSD and complex PTSD using a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety, trust and your individual pace. You won’t be pushed to revisit experiences before you’re ready.

Grief & Loss
Grief doesn’t always fit neatly into what others expect it to look like. I support people navigating bereavement and complicated loss, including those grieving someone lost to substance use or overdose. When stigma makes a loss difficult to talk about or leaves you feeling as though your grief is somehow less valid, counselling can offer a place where your experience is acknowledged without judgement.

Life Changes & Relationships
Divorce, separation, co-parenting, relationship challenges and other major life changes can affect far more than one part of your life. Together, we can explore relationship patterns, communication, boundaries, changing roles and the uncertainty that can come when life no longer looks the way it once did.

Men’s Mental Health
Many men have learned to carry stress, grief, anger and difficult emotions quietly. Counselling offers a private, judgement-free space to talk honestly about what you’re experiencing, explore the expectations and pressures surrounding masculinity, and develop a healthier relationship with your emotions, relationships and yourself.

Identity & LGBTQ+ Support
Understanding who you are can be complicated, especially when identity intersects with relationships, family expectations, belonging or how others see you. I offer affirming counselling for people exploring gender, sexuality and identity, with space to understand what feels authentic to you without pressure to fit someone else’s expectations.
What Might Counselling Actually Look Like?
Real Support for Real Life
Therapy terms can tell you how a counsellor works, but they don’t always tell you what that means for you. Counselling is personalized, so no two sessions will look exactly the same. Here are a few examples of what our work together might involve.
When you feel stuck
Maybe you know something needs to change, but you keep finding yourself in the same patterns. We can explore the beliefs, emotions and behaviours that may be keeping you stuck, understand what purpose they’ve been serving, and identify practical ways to start moving in the direction you want to go.
When Anxiety or Overwhelm Takes Over
When your thoughts won’t slow down, or everything feels like too much, we may start by looking at the thought patterns contributing to your anxiety. From there, we can work on changing how you relate to difficult thoughts and emotions and use body-based strategies to help calm your nervous system. The goal isn’t necessarily to never feel anxious. It’s to help anxiety have less control over how you live your life.
When You’re Working Through Trauma
Trauma work is deeply individual, and pace matters. You won’t be expected to tell your whole story, revisit painful experiences or work through something before you feel ready. Using trauma-informed approaches, we can work together at a pace that prioritizes safety and helps you understand and process your experiences without feeling pressured to rush the process.
The Right Fit Matters
Counselling Works Best When You Feel Safe Being Yourself
You can have all the therapeutic tools in the world, but counselling also needs to feel like a space where you can be honest.
Big emotions are welcome here. Tears, fear, anger, uncertainty, even not knowing what to say can all be part of the process.
The relationship you build with your counsellor matters. You deserve to feel heard, respected and supported while doing this work.
Frequently Asked Questions
It’s Okay to Have Questions
Still have any questions?
There isn’t one set formula. Sessions are shaped around what you’re experiencing and what you want to work on. We may explore thoughts, emotions and patterns, develop practical coping strategies, work on how you relate to difficult experiences, or simply create space for something you haven’t felt able to talk about elsewhere.
No. Trauma work is deeply individual, and you won’t be pressured to revisit painful experiences before you’re ready. You set the pace. We can focus on safety, understanding your responses, developing tools and building trust before deciding together what feels appropriate to explore.
That’s completely okay. You don’t need to arrive with a perfectly defined problem or know where to begin. Part of counselling can be figuring out what you’re feeling, what isn’t working, and what you’d like to be different.
The relationship you have with your counsellor matters. You should feel heard, respected and comfortable enough to be yourself. A free consultation gives us a chance to connect, ask questions and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.
